What to Bring

Identification

  • California Driver’s License or ID
  • Insurance Card
  • Medical Papers (appointments, test result, TB test)

Personal Items

  • IF YOU SMOKE, bring cigarettes
  • Personal food items
  • Phone cards or quarters for the pay phone
  • Alarm clock (without radio)
  • Comb/Brush
  • Toothbrush/Toothpaste
  • Deodorant/Soap/Lotion
  • Shaving needs (razors/shaving cream)
  • Hair care products (shampoo/conditioner/hair spray)

Medications

  • If you take medications, you must bring a 30-day supply of your prescriptions in original containers. Any over-the-counter medication, vitamins, and supplements must be in unopened and sealed containers.
  • If you are diabetic, you must bring your sliding scale, meter, strips, medication, and insulin delivery method (where applicable)

Basic Wardrobe

  • Comfortable everyday pants and shirts
  • Sweater/Jacket/Coat
  • Underwear and Socks
  • Sleepwear (pajamas, sweats, etc.)
  • Robe/Slippers/Shower Shoes
  • Comfortable shoes (flats/tennis shoes)
  • Sweats or exercise clothes
  • No suggestive clothing or clothing with references to drugs or alcohol

DO NOT BRING

  • Electronics (Laptops, Radios, TVs, cameras, etc.)
  • Expensive Jewelry or other valuables
  • Cell Phones or iPods
  • Provocative clothing
  • Pocket knives or any sharp objects
  • Mouthwash with alcohol
  • Excessive cash (more than $30.00)
  • Credit cards and checkbooks (unless needed for payment)
  • Laundry detergent (provided for you)
  • Anything highly caffeinated (including coffee, tea, energy drinks, Rock Stars, Red Bull, etc); regular soda is OK
    Bring your belongings in one soft canvas bag

(No suitcases please)

*Please bring any of the above mentioned items you feel you may need while in treatment. You will not have the opportunity to purchase them while you are at New Bridge.

*Please mark all personal items with your name as New Bridge Foundation is NOT responsible for any lost or stolen items while a resident AND upon departure from the program, all personal belongings must be taken. You could lose what you leave behind (Admissions Agreement, Part IV).
