Milieu Staff

We are hiring a full-time Milieu Staff for our adult residential program with weekend hours.

Ideal candidates have:

Prevention Counselor For School-Based Program

We are currently seeking a part-time counselor to work in our school-based program, in a Berkeley middle school, providing a curriculum-based Substance Use Prevention Education. Students participate in an environmental campaign designed to prevent substance use in the community. Candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work as well as have experience working with a diverse population. Candidate must be knowledgeable in child and adolescent development, substance abuse prevention and multi-cultural issues. Candidate must be a team-player (both inside the organization as well as in the community), have the desire to learn and have the ability to work independently.

Candidate must have the ability to take initiative, have good judgment, be resourceful, have tact, and physical ability commensurate with the demand of the position.

Nurse

We are hiring a part-time Nurse for our adult substance abuse treatment program for a Saturday afternoon/evening shift and a Sunday day shift.

Required skills and experience:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse in good standing to provide medical services in the State of California.
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment preferred.

Counselor/Case Manager

We are hiring a full-time Counselor/Case Manager for our adult residential program with weekend hours.

Ideal candidates have:

  • Experience in substance abuse treatment
  • Experience working with culturally diverse clients
  • Individual and group counseling skills
  • Understanding of co-occurring issues
  • Motivational interviewing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Qualifications:

  • Registered to obtain certification or Certified Addiction Counselor (CADTP, CCAPP or CAADE) or Master Level Registered Intern
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in substance abuse treatment
  • A minimum of two (2) years drug-free, if recovering
